Red Hot Penny Shares made a 20% loss…
Vialogy released its final results on Monday. The company made a loss of £5.7m in the year to March. Despite some success, it does not seem to be any closer to making a profit. It has had to abandon all projects other than those relating to the oil industry, and here progress has been frustrating.
The oil industry is conservative and slow to adopt new techniques. While Vialogy has managed to sign up a ‘supermajor’ oil company, it admits that the big companies are not keen to share the profits of any producing oil well identified by Vialogy’s QuantumRD methodology.
When I first tipped the shares in September 2008 there were 504m of them in issue. After successive share issues there are now 690m shares in issue. So Vialogy needs to make some 37% more profit to generate the same reward for shareholders.
Unfortunately it may not end here. That’s because Vialogy may yet have to raise more cash through share issues before it can reach the elusive land of profit.
Despite the enticing prospects for QuantumRD, the fact is that the Vialogy story has not developed as I had hoped over the last two years. I fear that another two years hence we could still be waiting for the share price to move. So I am giving up. SELL
